Intelligent Current Probe - ICP
The ICP is designed for the testing of electrically powered units and their cables in motor vehicles both in the end of assembly line area and repair station.
It incorporates a radio interface (Bluetooth or WLAN) which enables the exchange of commands and result data with a handheld terminal (RCU), a Multi-Function Tester (MFT) or a stationary computer.
The ICP acts like a subsystem to MFT since the MFT carries out the process control and informs the operator of the tests in progress but all measuring tasks are performed by the ICP.
The test procedure is based on high-accuracy measuring of current, voltage and time.
Measuring of current is performed inductively according to the compensating method:
- precision of 1% +- 5mA
- resolution of 2 mA
- vehicle circuit does not have to be interrupted
Together with current values, the device also measures the battery voltage with a precision of 0.5% +- 50mV and a resolution of 4 mV. This allows converting the values measured at various battery voltages to a rated voltage.
